Every record you have logged, arranged by what it is and what it means to you. Nothing is placed by hand.
Genre sets the direction. Records that share tags end up in the same area, and the areas are labelled so you can read them.
Your score and how often you come back to a record set how far in it sits and how large it is drawn. What carries your taste is big and near the middle. What you rated once and left is small and out at the edge.
A record can carry up to three genres and is pulled by all of them, in proportion to how strongly it is tagged. Something mostly shoegaze with a little ambient sits in the shoegaze area, leaning towards ambient.
The map is finished the moment it appears, and it is the same map every time you open it.
Areas are remembered between visits and only move when your log tells the map something new. A map that gave a different answer on a second look at the same records would not be worth reading.
The abstract print on your profile and on your card is the same map, drawn in the colours of the sleeves rather than the sleeves themselves. No other listener's log produces the same picture.
